In Autumn 2021,
Mullingar Town Band launched their Community Adult Concert Band.
The aim for this ensemble is to encourage adult musicians of varying standards to join together to play music, learn, socialise and have fun.
This group meets once a month on Wednesday nights 7.15-9.30pm.

Membership: Associate Membership Fee €250 for the year applies. The fee includes all rehearsals, all music, links to some practice tracks and annual membership of our Band Booster Raffle Club all while supporting Mullingar Town Band music programme for both youth and adults.

FURTHER INFO:
  • Conductor: John Walsh
  • Three seasonal performances throughout the year.
  • For brass and woodwind instrumentalists or percussionists Age 18+ (For MTB marching band members - Age 16+).
  • Musicianship standard of approx. grade 1.5+ : if you're unsure just drop us a message but you should be able to read the five lines/four spaces up to two sharps/two flats. You may need a quick recap - that's ok.
  • A set program of music for the year plus seasonal event music e.g. (Christmas and Church)
  • Music will be distributed upon registration - by October.
  • Access available for members to some online practice tracks for home practice between rehearsals.
  • Members can rotate 1st/2nd/3rd, or choose 3rds or simpler modified parts.
  • Membership to this ensemble requires minimum attendance of the monthly scheduled Wednesday rehearsals. If for some reason you cannot attend, adequate notice must be given. Attendance to pre performance rehearsal is necessary. 
  • Membership Fee: €250/Year (Includes all music, rehearsals and Band Booster Raffle Club membership).
  • MTB can offer Instrument Hire for brass - woodwind - percussion. Cost: €30/Year (some stock is limited). Please let us know.
  • Members are welcome to sit in on our weekly Friday night marching rehearsals (2nds/3rds) and perhaps join the marching band at some stand-up recitals. On occasion, this group may be invited to perform with the marching band at events such as town centre or housing estate recitals (not obligatory). 
  • COMMUNITY CONCERT BAND REHEARSAL DATES: 12th Oct/9th Nov/7th Dec/11th Jan/8th Feb/8th Mar/12th Apr/10th May/7th June.
  • MINIMUM PERFORMANCES: Christmas - Carolling and Church / May -  Concert

MTB GIG BAND!

Summer 2022 saw the formation of MTBs newest adventure -
MTB Gig Band (working title!).
This group are members of the Community Concert Band who come together separately to rehearse a varied programme for alternative performances.

There's lots to come from this group for 2022-23.
