Performances

 

Having different disciplines within the band system (marching band, concert band, junior bands and colour guard) allows for the band to perform in many different settings – both formal and informal, competitive and non-competitive.

Examples (to name just a few) of performances which Mullingar Town Band have performed include:
  • Christmas street carolling, Christmas Festival Concerts
  • Parades (St. Patricks Day etc.)
  • Leading the teams- County finals
  • Irish Marching Bands Association/Drum Corp Europe (competition)
  • Collaborative concerts
  • Orchestra in school community and school musicals
  • In local schools – recruiting
  • Mass/Religious events
  • Corporate events and parties
  • Weddings
  • Outdoor festivals
  • Opening and closing of venues/buildings
  • TV shoots
  • Ceremonial (e.g. 1916)

 

Some of our memorable performances include:
  • Closing of Column Barracks – parading the troops out of Mullingar
  • 2017: First time winning the All Ireland Marching Band Championships
  • 2017: The Rose of Tralee Festival parade – Saturday night!
  • 2015/2016/2017: Electric Picnic – mind field
  • Euro Disney, Paris.
  • 1995: Millstreet – IMBA Marching Band Competition.
